Meet Cat Veterinarian Dr. Lynn Yut

Lynn Yut, DVM Dr. Yut graduated from Ohio State University in 1984 with honors.  She has lived in Carlsbad since 1988, and has been married for 20 years.  She established All Cats Hospital in 1991, which moved to its new location in 2007. Dr. Yut decided in high school that she wanted to be a veterinarian.  She attended Ohio State University where she earned a degree in Microbiology.  Her main focus at that time was equine medicine.  Dr. Yut had never really been exposed to cats until she began veterinary school and found their independence, grace and mystery, fascinating.  She had always wanted to live in California, and moved there immediately upon her graduation from veterinary college.  Dr. Yut practiced equine medicine for 5 years before shifting her focus to feline health care.  She finds both veterinary medicine and surgery rewarding, particularly preventive diagnostic medicine, as she believes this keeps cats healthier, happier and living longer. Dr. Yut initially worked at a feline practice in Pacific Beach CA and then in 1991, she opened her own private practice.  She always strives to treat and diagnose each cat as if it were her own.  Dr. Yut feels every cat brings a unique joy and bond to their caretakers.  She has a special interest in feline dentistry as so many cats suffer in pain without their owner knowing.  Feline dental care is one of the most important aspects of preventative medicine that will extend a cat’s life.  Dr. Yut takes special care to decrease anxiety while cat patients are visiting All Cats Hospital, and to be proficient, caring and as gentle as possible, when working with your feline companions.  She currently has only one very special pet, Abyssinian Baggins, an eight year-old male, who is not really sure he wants any other roommates.  When not practicing, Dr. Yut’s hobbies include sailing, kayaking, and camping in the mountains.
Kim, Veterinary Assistant Bringing over 13 years of veterinary experience, Kim has been a veterinary assistant at our hospital since January 2015. You will be impressed by the efficient and resourceful way she conducts your examination appointment. Her skillful cat handling technique and medical professionalism create a safe, smooth veterinary experience for both you and your cat. A San Diego native, Kim loves outdoor activities and goes fishing, hiking, and camping frequently. Other favorite hobbies include cross stitching, crocheting, and painting with oil colors. Kim has always had a passion for animals. She currently gets her cat fix at work, because at home she cares for 5 tortoises, 3 bearded dragons, 2 dogs, a pixie frog and a beta fish.
Kelly, Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist   Kelly has been a valuable part of our reception staff since October 2011. Her compassion and interest make her uniquely qualified to share your concerns for your cat’s well being. Her empathy and genuine care makes her the one to talk to when you’re in need of understanding and support. Kelly is originally from the Midwest. She loves working with animals and worked at North County Animal Shelter while obtaining her veterinary assistant certificate. She has threebeloved cats: Tabiand Luke, rescued as kittens at 3 weeks of age; and Biggie, a senior kitty who was adopted from All Cats Hospital. In her free time Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, photography, and gardening.
